Taking Charge of Change(TM) Early Childhood Leadership Professional Development Course | 96 Hours

Equip and empower yourself to lead your organization. This comprehensive evidence-based leadership course focuses on child care center directors and their role as “change agents.” It is an ideal course for administrators who want to be sure they have a solid understanding of all aspects of their profession.

The intensive learning and leadership development program draws upon the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership’s curriculum and Together4Children’s extensive expertise and knowledge of early childhood leadership. Your experience in this course will be enhanced by the collective wisdom of your fellow directors, which will create a powerful learning environment for you to grow as a leader. You will gain confidence to think about yourself as an individual leader, an organizational leader and a systems leader, prepared to make real and sustained change. Directors will have opportunities to reflect and diagnose their individual and organizational challenges and select appropriate strategies for implementing change.

“Taking Charge of Change has filled my toolbox with every possible issue/topic/management tool- I now have many resources available. It has greatly impacted my program. My staff has reaped amazing benefits, but the children are so much more engaged in playful learning because our teachers are more intentional!”

“The program has revealed the hidden “leader” within me. It has transformed the ways that I see my staff and restored my sense of confidence and competence. Taking Charge of Change has taught me to create systems in my center to ensure it can continue to run that way long after I am gone. Writing/rewriting clear policies and procedures have helped.”

Social and Emotional Learning

(SELC- Social Emotional Learning Collaborative) This is a Social Emotional Learning collaborative, committed to supporting child development centers, and the social emotional needs of children between the ages of birth and 5 years. The overarching goal of the SELC is the development of knowledge, skills and behaviors that support children’s optimal social and emotional development so that they are prepared to succeed in school.”

Infant/Toddler Training

All babies and toddlers need positive early learning experiences to foster their intellectual, physical, social and emotional development and lay the foundation for later school success. Babies and toddlers living in high-risk environments need additional supports to promote their healthy growth and development. Together 4 Children provides professional development training for directors and teachers that focus on developmentally appropriate practices in infant and toddler programs. The goal is to ensure high-quality, individualized, responsive and stimulating experiences that occur within the context of strong relationships and how to provide positive experiences that are imbedded in everyday routines thus meeting the developmental needs for all infants and toddlers.
