"Together
for Children"
is an advocacy effort to promote and celebrate “April as the Month of the
Child “ and to provide an annual platform for advocacy. "Together
for Children"
is an annual public awareness campaign that informs and educates the
children, their families and other child advocates on health, education and
safety issues. With their active participation, they create awareness that
all children, regardless of ethnic and economic status, have the right and
the need for quality health, education and a safe environment for their
social, emotional and physical well being throughout their childhood.
“Together
for Children” has three primary goals:
To
promote public awareness on the importance of
Ø
quality health,
Ø
child abuse prevention
and
Ø
education of children
for the
future of our local community, state, and nation.
And to
raise funds locally for education, research and advocacy programs to benefit
children;
The colors of the campaign
materials, such as bows, automobile antenna ribbons, decorated ribbons and
parent information pamphlets respectively signifying;
Ø
Blue,
the importance of Child Abuse Prevention, and is a reminder that a child is
hurting.
Ø
Red,
the importance of All Health Issues (proper nutrition, physical activities,
quality health care)
Ø
Yellow,
the importance of Education (social, emotional and brain development)
